ATV Tire Reviews? Whats best?
#1
I have had it in my mind that I was going to get the ITP mud lites for our sportsman. WE have them on our Arctic Cat TBX and they work great. Someone told me now that if I am spending the money, don't waste it on the Mudlites, get the 589's right away because they are alot better.
What is the best? Or doesn't it matter? I know the 589's would be better in mud, but I want to be trail riding and stuff too, and occasionally pull the law sweeper around. The 589's would tear up the lawn more than the mudlites I would think.. Is there anywhere that I can find reviews?

You should look @ the Maxxis Mudbugs. They are a 6 ply tire and are respectfully lighter than the ITP Mudlite, and much lighter than the 589. I know that ITP makes a great product so I won't take anything away from them. I've searched all sorts of forums and the reviews of the Mudbug are great! I was also told from the owner of a Polaris dealership that Mudbug was a better tire than Mudlite. By the way the only aftermarket tires that were on his showroom floor were mudlite. I think that was due to availability of the mudbug at the time. But from what I gathered out of the conversation was that Mudlites sell better but Mudbug was the best out of the 2.

I have bi/tri claws on my 700 and 800. I ride with guys that have the 3 previously mentioned tires. All are good but there is no doubt that they wish they had the Claws. I love em. You just have to buy what YOU want and for the conditions you ride. Can't go wrong if you match your tire with your riding style. No sense in going aggressive if you're passive and vice versa. You won't be happy if you listen to others and go wrong.

I also was leaning towards the Mud Bugs .....nice deep lug[30 mm] and simaler weight to the mudlights ......but Maxxis makes alot of industrial tires and they are know to be top notch. The Trackless's where I work all use Maxxis and they are tough. Not sure if Ill go with the 26's on my 400 ...but would like the clearence...will I have to get spacers?
