Default OT truck lifts?

So I want to put a lift on my Ram, but don't have the cash to get the suspension lift I want with the tires I want. I'm running 32's right now and want 35's. I was thinking I fit 35's with a 2-3 inch body lift. Is it even worthwhile to get a body lift or should I just hold off for a suspension lift?

If you are just driving it on the street or for mild trail riding a body lift should be fine. Just dont forget about all the things that have to be modified or relocated between the body and frame like the fuel filler, brake lines, steering shaft, ect. If you plan to wheel the crap out of it the body lift will put more stress on the mounts due to increased leverage. Even with the lift you may still have to trim the fenders so the tires dont hit when turning. Just dont expect any more flex with the body lift.

My buddy has a 2000 Ram Sport 4x4. He has 315's on it with stock 16" rims and no lift. The 315's equal about a 34.5x12.5" tire and they only rub at full turning on the sway bar. Not to bad. You should be able to clear 35"s with a body lift. The dodges seem to be able to clear large tires with less lift than the other trucks out there.

Thats what I thought, but I'm being told otherwise by some respectable sources, so I dunno. brokeYJ, I never even thought about that stuff needing modified, I think I'll stick to a suspension lift, easier to do, only have to worry about brake lines that way.

i put 305,s on my 2001 ram. they fit good, with only slight rubbing on full over going left only, lol!
when i go to 35,s i will put on a skyjacker setup, with a 6 inch lift. they will clear no matter what your doing then. any less than that, and you might rub.

someone needs to break out the plasma cutter, and open up the fenders, making a template while there at it. then, make a nice set of overfenders, and sell it as a kit for the dodges. add 1 inch spacers in the kit, to keep from rubbing. this way, 35,s could fit on a stock suspencion, giving the gc needed without all the modding.
this is just my opinion, i may be wrong
