Default 500 oil change

I have a friend that has a 99 500 sportsman and he was wondering how you change the oil? I have heard about pinching a line or something and also does he have 2 drain plugs. Thanks for the help.

hey, sp700
ya, he ash 2 drains one on the tank and one on the crankcase. after draining and refilling the there is a line at the top of the oil tank, pinch it off and start the bike and let it run for about a minute and teh release the line. i usually shut it off to hear the air escape. this makes sure the oil pump is primed after changing.

bump - oh yeah, only pinch the line about 2 inches from the tank fitting, otherwise there is a slit in it for a vent and it won't do anything.
