Default Scrambler Master Cylinder Question

I have a problem, We just changed the front brake pads on my 1999 Scrambler 400, after we finished with the pad install the piston on the handlebar hand brake master cylinder doesn't come all the way back out. About 3/4 of the hand brake's throw is free play before it even touches the piston. Everything worked fine untill we changed the front brake pads, then this just happened. We were even trying to bleed everything once this happened but there just isn't enough of a shot on the pistoin to get anything productive out of the lines.
Does anybody know what my options are or how I can fix this?
