05 Raptor 80 restrictor

No, the restrictor is on the intake side right on top of the air cleaner. It is a piece of thin plastic with some small holes in it.. remove that, and rejet the carb... and it should pick up a bunch.
If you need to see it, take a look an Yamaha's website and go to the parts catalog section.. they show it on one of the schematic pages. I think it is the front fender or front body work page... I forget... I know it wasn't where I expected to see it...

Thanks for the info Dragginbutt,
I removed the airbox restrictor the day I purchased it but was not sure if there was an exhaust restrictor as well as I couldn't find anything in the manual.
What are your recommendations for rejetting. I rejetted my WR20 but am not sure what will work for a Raptor 80.
Thanks.

Not knowing the altitude etc in your area, that would be hard to say... I'd have to recommend talking to the experts at the dealership on that one.
If you are looking for some mods for your machine.. why not check out raptor80racing.com and see what they can do for you. They have some neat stuff there. My favorite is the light kit they sell that falls within the raptor 80's stator capabilities.. According to Ricky Stator, the stator on the 80 is split, and the stock machine only uses one side... that leaves you the other side to use for things like lights. As long as you keep the watts down under 35, you are good to go... The kits sold here do that.
I wish some aftermarket manufacturer would look at the mini market as a whole and begin marketing more kits like these. Although manufactuers who sign up to the CPSC standards will probably not offer them due to concerns about riding in darkness, as a parent, I recognise that in many cases when riding in deep forest, there are times when lights are needed, even in the daylight hours. Spike has coined the phrase daytime running lights... a wonderful concept.
The second reason for lights is for others to see you. In most cases, all we are talking is for them to put smaller bulbs in existing light housings.... Come on guys, this is not rocket science.. and there is a clear market here.
Companies like RADLITES sell some pretty inovative LED products too, and if you have ever seen them in operation... they will get your attention.. and that is what it is all about... Safety, safety, safety It should be on everybody's lips..
