just got one of these last december, its got 145 miles on it and about 18 hours on it, and i was wondering, are these things built to take a beating? i mean i'm going through muddy ruts and what not, is this thing built to handle all of this i mean its holding up well i don't know if its right for it though

thoughts?

thanks

Anything short of dropping it off a cliff and it should hold up just fine. Hondas can take more of a beating than any other atv that I've seen, usually the rider is worn out before the quad.

hehehe, abd after it fell off the cliff you could straighten the handle bars out and ride it away.

pretty tough..

i do alot of mud riding with it, the mud will not effect its performance or mechanical ability will it? this is my first utility atv and just wanted to know what i can and cannot do, i got stuck today, i bottom out it deep ruts, had about 30 minutes of cleaning, but it doesn't have idependant suspension which i don't really like about the atv, i wish it did, because it feels like its limited in flexibility, but i like it, it never lets me down power wise, and........ it is good all around, but, i just wanted to know if doing some hard core mudding is alright, or if it just means a good amount of cleaning after wards, haha

thanks

Several years ago, a group of us, some with Honda ATC's and others with Honda FourTrax's; went trail riding after a severe rain spell, which meant crossing some of the gunkiest mud-packed road washouts out there, to the point where the engines were buried in the mud. Just make sure you don't get stuck, and even if you do, try to keep the engine from stalling if the pipe risks getting water/mud flow inside. Because then, you will screw up your ATV's engine.

Other than that, just make sure you keep the engine oil fresh throughout the life of your ATV; being a Honda, it's almost a guarantee it will last forever.
