Default DS 650 performance

I ride an 03 Baja, and I just installed an Alba stage 2 exhaust kit. I am still waiting for a main jet so I can really try it out.... but what a sound it makes! I'm hoping to cook all my buddies who run Banshee's with Tommy T-6 pipes. Anyone running the same exhaust as me?? I want to know if I should run with or without my airbox lid, and what kind of jetting numbers your running. Ride on.

....Next to go in is a set of cams, high comp piston, and an ignition box to change or eliminate the rev limiter... any suggestions people? I used to be a 2-stroke man so I dont know what to go with. I ride everywhere: dunes, trails, open roads, hillclimb..... so I think I should build mostly midrange into the engine. Whadaya think?

well for the airbox there was a HUGE post i started about it back awhile...but it seems they make the best hp with the air box lid on with the stock carb...when i take mine off i for sure no i have more very bottom pull but loose some top end.

I run a Ron Woods CDI, it eliminates the rev limiter. There are times I wish I had a rev limit but most of the time it is not an issue. The more I ride the more accuanted I get with the shift points and there is no need for a rev limiter, other than a stuck wide open throttle (which has happened to me a couple of times I just kill the power no biggie) I personally see no need for one.

Then there is the Vortec CDI, I think a few guys on here are running it and love it. This particular CDI has different setting for different riding conditions, which is a very cool feature. The Vortec also has a rev lmiter and if I'm correct it changes with the different settings, again pretty cool.
