I installed my Curtis Sparks ignition key this weekend on my 400ex. Everything went fine except that in the instructions it says to rotate the flywheel to the left until it stops after you install the key. When I tried this it wouldn't move because of engine compression so I assembled everything else. It runs fine and does seem to have more throttle response but now I'm worried that it might be in there wrong or that it might shear off. Does anybody know if this is okay or do I need to pull it off again to rotate the flywheel? Thanks.

after you install the key , rest your flywheel on the shaft and rotate it to the right until it rests against the new key... To test turn to the left and then back to the right.

advances your timing 6 degree's. Adds horse power, better throttle response.

Skunky,
Do you think mine is on there right? I'd hate to have to pull all that stuff off again. I've rode it for about 3 or 4 hours since I installed it and it runs fine. If it was in there wrong would I know it by now? Is there anyway that it could be on there but not be advanced 6 degrees? I'm not to familiar with the flywheel.
