help...riding boots what works?

I've tried some boots and they all seem to be made for guys that ride dirt bikes... I just wanted to know what everyone else is wearing to ride quads and still be able to shift and brake. Thanks

hmm....i havent had any probs with mine...i will say the first day out took some time to get use to.... shifiting was the only notiable difference to the bad....i just adjusted my clutch shifter up a spline or two... after riding with them a few times after the adjustment i can even imagine riding without....and actually wont....hope this helps

I am curious also, I have been think of it for a while now but don't really want a motocross style boot. I am going to order the over the boot style riding pants this spring/summer and want a comfortable waterproof boot that won't take in water and mud but will be easy to clean as well.

i wear $30 work boots from walmart when i go riding. how are the mx boots better? do they just up your confidence level because you know that you have the best? a friend of mine got some and they are THICK, is the extra time it takes to get them broken in worth it?

i definitely have more confidence with them....they have awsome ankle support...great protection when foot slips off and hits ground, root, tree, rocks, snake, etc.....shin protection...some have metal toes....as for water proof...theyre okay up a little past ankle but after that starts to leak in....theyre not that expensive...i got the thor t30s for around $130 and the same in the youth for a little less(not much) 2 years ago and dont need to replace yet....but probably will upgrade this season just cuz they have some really cool ones out

see i have some of those fox forma pro boots and they have been broke in, and still don't flex how i need them to, to shift. I tried them with my banshee and my yfz450 and the 450 i can't move the shifter up anymore cause it hits the case saver if i remember right....so i was lookin for some boots with more flexability...i've tried the walmart ones and iether the footpegs destroy them or they don't suport your ankles well enough.

hey dune racer....on the shifting i do more of a pivot...especially when crouching (off the seat a few inches) ill lift my toes as normal and then kinda rock my foot back on the pivot point.. like second nature now....also try adjusting the clutch lever...try it in a couple different positions....hate to see you have a nice pair of boots and not be able to use em...

I'm in the market now too.
I wondered if there is any diff in the "ATV" boots other then soles?
I see that Rockymountain has some nice looking ARC's (MV220 I think) for 150 bux, but for 10 bux more, I get some some Alpinestar Tech 4's with ATV sole
I need a wide boot, want to stay under 200. Color/looks don't matter since my pants will be over the boot style
