I've got a banshee that I just switched to alcohol carbs. that I mostly just drag race. The head has been shaved, larger fuel line, and timing advanced 8 degress.Should I use a fuel filter or a fuel pump?Any other suggestions?

I would run a fuel filter and depending on engine size, at least a pingle. Pumps aren't usually needed until rather large engines.

I have since installed a fuel filter.Several guys told me I needed a pingle petcock,or I'd burn it up.I rode it hard for three days without a melt down.So I'm not sure I need one.I think the alcohol is really picky about weather changes. It run ok sometimes and at other times it pulled like a runaway train. It just kept pulling. That was awesome. It's the fastest bike I've ever owned. It runs good for a 350 with stock frame and suspension. It's a real lead sled compared to the drag bikes, but I'm proud of it.Do you ever ride at St.Joe?

Yeah, I've been to St. Joe a few times. I was there about 2-3 weeks ago actually.

The stock petcock will usually support short drags. My 4mm TT bike will suck the stock line dry by the 2nd lap.

We'll probably be going to some 300ft.dirt drags in Tennessee this weekend.Might go to St.Joe in a few week. Not sure of a exact date.
Did you get in any racing while you were there? There some fast bikes there.

I am not fast enough to race at St. Joe's.

Yet. Waiting on my cubs and my "throttle in a bottle". A&S is done porting the cubs and are polishing them now. The other thing will be shipped out to me today. I need to have Mr. HP hook me up with a bigger set of Lectrons.

Let me know when you head to St. Joe's. If my bike is done, i'll be there for sure.

Do you have a graph of your dyno pull? I would think there might be a little more power in your engine. I am turning high 70's on gas on the TT bike. It is a 4mm but since you are on alky, I would think you should be close to that. I don't know how radical the stage 2 porting is though. Also, the dyno I go to reads low.

Rob at RDZ told me that there is more in the engine. He thinks the jetting is too rich. The level 2 porting is considered an extreme trail/drag port.I can still cruise around on it,but I would not consider it a trail rig.Hope to be going to St.Joe in a few weeks.Going to a 300 ft. drag race saturday at Friendship,TN. near Dyersburg.Any advice on gearing.Got plans saturday?Could use some more banshees.Normally there is alot of 250r 3-wheelers that race there.
