Ive seen it mentioned on some of your bike specs. What is it and how much/ where find it? Ive got a 440 kit on, havent ran it full out on the trail yet, but wondering if i need it and how much it helps. Anyone used to whitebrothers oil temp guage on bottle before and after to tell the difference? Let me know. Thanks.

I think that I would be more interested in a larger oil cooler since I think that would actually help cool things down better than a larger reservoir. Has anybody seen one?

I'd have to agree with you there. More oil will take longer to heat, which is good, but it also takes longer to cool, so it pretty much evens out. Bigger cooler makes it run cooler no matter what. One crazy idea I had was to find some small aluminum heatsinks (like the type you can put on P2/P3 and Athlon CPUs) and attach them to the oil res. It would greatly increase the surface area of the resivoir, effectively making it into a cooler as well! Don't know how much exactly it would help, though. Another good thing would be a heat shield between the header pipes and the rez.

Nice thing about the Pingry is it's vented.

my pingry rules. My bike has ran cooler ever since i use the mobile 1 15 50, and the 3 quart oil rez. I got mine for 275 at a local shop.

Only question i have is.... Will aftermarket headpipes have enough clearance to fit with the 3 quart oil rez, cuz my stock headers are pretty close, 1/2 inch away

ALSO the vented design of the strong tank acts as an oil cooler itself

CG,
My Sparks header is much closer to the engine than the stocker so there is plenty of room in between the pipe and rez. It is also ceramic coated inside and out so surface temps are not as high. I'll send you a pix that shows the clearance.
