Default 400 sport dead after washing

I had some fun in the mud last saturday and I finally got around to washing it yesterday. There was mud in every nook!!! I enduded setting it on its back bumper and pulled the skid plate and washed it out real well. I turned the gas off before I set it on end, when I was done it started right up I was going to take it to my storage shed about 4 blocks away and my wife decided that she wanter to drive it there so I followed in the truck. I could hear it back firing once in a while I just figured it was wet or it was loading up because she was riding so slow. When we got to the shed I got on it to try to burn off the water or what ever was making it run so dumb. I made it about 2 blocks and it started to bog and had no power and when I came to a stop it died and now I can't get it going, it will pop off but not run. After work I will try pulling the plug and looking at it. Any other ideas?

I am sure you just got your CDI Ignition box SOAKED.
My guess is it will start after it has set and had a chance to dry.

Mine does the same thing if I go through a deep puddle of wash it.

Some have said you can take it off and silcone it up real good. I am told this will help solve the problem

You've probably looked already, but check the air filter. Once I got the entire airbox full of water on my Xplorer from just splashing in puddles, and it kept bogging down with anything more than a quarter throttle.
If youve already checked this, sorry I couldnt help.

OK got it going. There was no water in the air box. I pulled the plug and it was wet and black so I know that it had loaded up I replaced it witha new one and it ran for about 2 mins then fouled out and I put in another new one and now it runs fine. I guess it was just real flooded.
Thanks guys
