this summer i plan on selling my trike and getting a 250r fourwheeler.could i find one in decent condition for less than thousand dollars

 

If your lucky you probly could or if you feel like dric=ving along way to pick it up.

 

I think you are being pretty optomistic. To die hard atv riders, a good Honda 250r is like a 57 Chevy.

 

I would say, not a chance. Not if it's running.

 

What years were the 250R's sold? I think 86 thru 88 but not sure. Were there any changes from year to year? Were all these years equiped with the identical 86 CR250 power valved nikosil cylinder engine?

 

hondaguy, to answer your question; NO. The cheapest running 250R I have seen was one that was trashed, had no brakes and bald tires, and they still wanted $2200 for it. You can find a decent one every now and then for about $2500-$3000 though.

 

hondaguy, Go luck finding a 250r for under a grand. I have two sweet R's and I put alot of dollars into them to make them pefect. But their worth every dime. I too many wheeler (so my wife say's) She,s been after me to sell one of the R,s. I just keep putting off. Good luck on your quest. Just remeber you get what you pay for!
