RCR Stage 1 Jetting TB330
#1
Hey all,
I know some of you have installed the stage 1 kit on a trail boss. My question is, what jet did you use? I have an 05 330, and i am in the low elevation. I was planning on running a 140, just wondering what everyone else was running. Thanks for any help.

2many: It's a little louder than stock, not obnoxiously loud though, it peaks out at about 86dB @ 2 feet. After I installed the kit I thought it might bother some of the others I ride with but they didn't notice the extra noise, they only noticed the new silver pipe instead of the dull black stock silencer. While not too much louder it does add a nice deep, more aggressive exhaust note.
It runs way stronger, seems to have a lot more power to it, didn't really do much to the topend speed but overall it pulls much stronger through the whole powerband. I just installed the EPI Pink primary spring, as I was using the Dalton black/white and she tops out at 54mph(GPS). Also the Boss' annoying habit of winding down as you go up long gradual inclines is a thing of the past.
If you're going to keep your TB then definitely invest in the RCR kit, it is well worth the cash for the extra performance and really livens the quad up.

Jason; I thought the 147.5 was going to be too big also. I started with a 140 and it was running too lean until I got to 145. I may be running a little on the rich side with the 147.5 but the overall performance to this point has been excellent.

Turilla,
Before the spring change I was running 5500rpm's @45mph. Not very strong and going up slight inclines it would go down to about 35mph. The only thing I have now is the K&N filter with the pink primary and red secondary set 2-2. I am running 6300 rpm's @52mph. Mid and top end are much better and it will hold the rpm's when going up the inclines. So I gained 800 rpm's and 7mph gps. I may go with the pipe just to get a little more. I really like the way it performs now.

I'm running a Unifilter along with the Stage 1 and the EPI pink primary. 6100rpm @ 54mph, the whole powerband is stronger and the ability to go up inclines, both gradual and steep is much better. This seems to be an almost perfect setup trail setup for my Boss. Without the Stage 1 it seemed that long hills would really wind down the machine and I'd find myself at 30mph just going on a slight uphill.
I'm still running stock wheels and tires, probably go with Mudlites once these wear out so that might change things a little.

turilla, Sounds like mine is like yours. I have the 145 main jet, K&N w/outerware, air box vented w/ 2, 1.5" holes, EPI Red primary spring and the WB's Slip On Pipe (all disks). Runs great. What size Mudlites (front & back) would you switch to when yours go bad?

I have 24" mudlites but i think next time around I am going to go with the 25" large lug mudlites. Just with these simple mods the 330 has some life in it and is much better quad to ride. I know it wont run with a 500 sp but then again I can never expect 60+ speeds out of the 330. I can now beat my father inlaws 400sp from start to finish.
