The 250 has a ton of potential but just doing a clutch kit will do very little in performance. You can spend $20 on a primary spring and get better performance out of it. You need a pipe and clutch kit to match. The stock exhaust is very restrictive. If you put on a pipe you need a clutch kit to match the new powerband of the pipe to get the most out of the pipe. If you cant afford a pipe and clutch kit then get a spring. You can get a Polaris white that will give you much better take off but not much on top end or an EPI ping that will give you the same take off but pull much harder from mid to top adding some more top speed.

If you arent going to get a pipe right now just put in a Polaris white primary spring and then when you get your pipe et a complete kit to match the pipe.Save the white spring back to help a buddy some time.

I would buy the pipe first and just get a primary spring. You will get better performance this way then just over a clutch kit.

How much added top end does a pipe and clutch kit give you? Say it tops out at 42mph right now. About how fast will it go after the clutch & pipe?

With the pipe, clutch kit, K&N and the right jetting you should be in the 50-52mph mark. I know they say the pipe will add about 5mph on the top but along with the pipe, the right clutch setup and intake mods will get you up to 8-10mph.
