Did the first oil change on the 500 ho 45 miles 18 hrs it said to use 2qts of oil the kit came with 3 is this a kit that is used for multiple vehicles or do i need to put all 3 in also how important is it to drain the 1 cup of oil from the crank case kinda a pain in the ***
looked at the directions did i need to do the oil pump priming step it ran ok after the oil change

 

If you change the filter and drain the crankcase too, you'll end up using a little oil from the 3rd bottle.

Normally, priming the oil pump during a simple oil change isn't necessary. But if you diconnected the oil line from the tank to the pump, or you let the vehicle sit for a long time without oil in the tank, then priming becomes necessary. I normally do the prime procedure anyway, just in case.
