99 SPORTSMAN 335 CARB PROBLEM
WHEN EVER THE AIR TEMP GETS ABOVE 70-80 DEGREES MY SPORTSMAN DOESN'T RUN RIGHT. IT WILL BOG DOWN WHEN I GET ON IT FULL THROTTLE. I CAN BACK OFF OF IT AND IT WILL RUN FINE AT LOW RPMS. IT STARTS FINE AND I CAN EVEN GET IT UP TO HIGHER SPEEDS IF I WORK IT UP SLOW BUT THEN IT WILL JUST BOG DOWN IF I HIT THE THROTTLE TO FAST. IT RUNS PERFECTLY FINE IN THE WINTER.
I TOOK THE CARB APART AND I HAVE THE RIGHT MAIN JET AND IT IS CLEAN, I ALSO HAVE A K&N FILTER. WHAT CAN I ADJUST? COULD IT BE ANYTHING ELSE?
THANKS

99 SPORTSMAN 335 CARB PROBLEM
Usually when it runs better when the motor is cool, and crappy when hot...the jetting is too rich. And seeing how the problem is at full throttle, the main sounds too big. I was gonna suggest cleaning the air filter, because a plugged up filter has those same symptoms, but k and n dont plug up that bad, unless its been a realy long time between cleanings.
To confirm its too rich, ...once its warm and acting up, remove the air box lid, and try a test run. If it runs better, then the jetting is too rich.
