I might be able to help ya out with the head situation..........if ya do actually need a new one. I have one that I ruined(in great condition other than where the cams ride at).........the place where the cams ride is pretty scared up, but I can have it fixed, and will be as good as new.......They do this on big motors, etc........so I know this will work, and can be done.

Forgot to mention this is an already port and flowed Nicholas Cycle head.......and has a three angle valve job on it. About 650 dollars worth of work. I'd also consider running that head myself, and selling you the new head(has about 15 hrs on it)............

I had my dealer tell me that polaris does not give a hour time frame on adjusting the valves. He says " Polaris just says to listen to the valves with a probe and adjust if you hear tapping". It sounds like a bunch of bs to me but i have over 200 hours on mine and still going strong.

well I don't know why the valve broke in half. it could have been a few things i guess somehow I didn't check the oil and it was 1/2 a quart low and it could of slowed down the cam from friction and the piston hit it, a service friend told me since the cams looked fine he thought the valves might need to be upgraded to run that high of compretion?, alto it ran great for 1.5 hours so my guess timing was ok but I don't know what happend also my service pal said it could be fixed for a few hundred but there is a like new on ebay for around 400.00 and I just slap it on? there is a pic on a link I posted for a look though! thanks
