I just purchased a new 05 predator last week . It is still in its breakin, But my question is . I have a dinging sound that comes from the front of the motor or in that area. It only does it when she starts to give it gas and is riding it slowly to moderate speeds. This is our first 2-stroke , so id hate to take it to the dealer whan its nothing. I have been around little 2-strokes before .but never heard this sound before.

 

Take it in and have it checked out.

 

Some have asked about sounds at idle on various brands, mine does it also, and I think these are the variator weights. Since yours only does it when giving gas and riding around I would agree with above post and take it in. If the dealer says nothing wrong great, but if something should go wrong later then you have a record of taking it in and addressing it. I work in a service field and I always tell customers if something doesn't seem right to call. Sometimes if they would have called sooner the fix would have been alot easier then after it progressed to a major problem with more parts involved.

 

Your chain will clank sometimes in the future. This is a sign it is time for adjustment.
