Default Getting wet on 2005 Sp 500HO

Anyone owning the new 05 500 HO get wet alot like a water hose is shooting up into your face up from the opening between the running boards and the engine a lot more than you should?

I do know that all the new Sportsmen models are using the same frame body plastic. I check out the 700 efi model and notice the twin motor fits fuller and covers up the opening better.

Has anyone solve the problem without going into water holes.Do any 700 efi owners get this wet from the floorboard area?

On my '04, I was getting water splashing across from each side, getting my ankles soaked.
I made splash gaurds out of a 2 dollar black waste basket from Walmart. zip tied them to the frame on each side, cutting out for any moving parts, works great

Staying awhole lot drier on my 05 700 than I ever did on the 2004.5 500HO. Good idea on butchering up a plastic trash can though. I will be shopping tonight!

Thanks for the imput fellows. I decided to cut out some thin plastic sheet and attach with push pins like the running boards to the fenders are attached. I went to Menards and pick up a 18 X24 sheet of clear plastic. The right opening takes a larger piece than the left side. I been ask if this will cause heating problems and to tell you I really won't know until I give it a try.
