Either a KFX/Z400 or a Predator, Please be Unbiased

I am torn in between the two quads currently leaning %70 towards the Orange KFX. I am going to buy my quads 20 minutes away From El Paso, TX in Las Cruces, NM. I will HAVE TO PAY NO TAX! So I have a slight price advantage and their is no costs to register it besides like a $39 fee.
Here in El Paso, TX we have Red Sands, it is a duning place with dunes two to three stories high. It is propably a five square miles area. The other riding place is with tons and tons of trails in the desert with both hard and soft sand mixed in different areas. The area is pure desert with shrubs and such all over the place with cleared paths and a couple area with high sand hills about 4 stories high. So....
I know the KFX/Z400 is a trail quad, is this the type of "trail" terrain or am I going to need to look into something with more power like the Predator? I am going to have my girlfriend riding with me on the quad probably like 85% of the time as it would be our thing to do when we get time. I am going to be 21 in June so we are going to have to make best of one quad for now. I can get them for almost the same price so money is not that big of an issue.
On a sidenote....my good friends that got me into ATV's both have 2004 std edition predators and they are the only quads I have driven to date. They had tons of power and I was very pleased with them. I don't want to be left behind them when I go out with them...
THX TO ANY COMMENTS OR ANYBODY THAT CAN HELP GIVE ME UNBIASED ADVISE!

If you want a power house right out of the box then go with the Predator. The Pred is a great trail quad, and the 05 has reverse. We ride with a z400 sometimes, and if I want to leave him behind it's very easy to do. The Pred is alot more stable on the trails, and it has the best stock suspension.

I would say go ride them both, then make up your own mind. Warning, I know which one you'll pick. Sand takes power, it's always nice to have a little extra left to squeeze. Also, compare the turning radius'. It's like night and day.
