Trail Boss or the Trail Blazer
#1
I am looking at getting the trail boss or trail blazer for my wife and I am looking at the Magnum or Sportman 400 for me. What would any of you Polaris owners recommend? I now comfort is a big thing for the wife. Neither of us are looking at going Mach 1 on these since it has been about 12 plus years since riding. How strong is the Magnum compared to the Sportman? Does the power in the Magnum suit the size and weight? Same with the trail boss and trail blazer?
Thank you,
Brian

Definitely the Trailboss over the Trailblazer. The Trailboss is much more comfortable and its a four stroke so you don't have to mess around with the Trailblazer being a 2 stroke. I would also say the Sportsman 400 because of the bigger engine and more features. The Sportsman has more grunt to it as well which after a while you will probably want for leisure or for work.

My vote would be for the Trailblazer. Being that I have one myself I am a bit biased, but I also think it is the best buy for the money. If your wife won't be going Mach1, why not get the smaller of the two machines? Mine is fast enough for me, and I think it has enough power to keep up with the big dogs during trailriding. As for it being a two stroke, it is hardly noticeable, the machine does all the work for you. Once you put the first quart of oil in, you're good to go for the whole season, with no worries of mixing because it'll do it for you. I love my Trailblazer, and I'm sure your wife would, too.

Hey taz7290. I got to agree with Frizzle on this one. The Trailblazer has 2 inches more suspension travel in the back and 1.5 inches in the front for a cushier ride. It is lighter, has a shorter turning radius and is $300 cheaper (list). The engine is a very reliable engine (in stock form) and is quite simple (air cooled, no reeds,no oil changes) with little maintenance. I suspect it is slightly faster, but has the same towing capacity (850 pounds). You probably can't go wrong with either units, but my vote goes to the Trailblazer.
I hope this helps you

ditto on the trailblazer! tested both the trailboss and blazer and ended up with a trailblazer...some reasons; cheaper, less maintinance(sp), wife is petite and found it easier to handle, and last but not least lined them up out front of the dealership and trailblazer won short drag race. and get the sporrtsman, it'll ride better than the magnum, I sure luv mine.

I have had the Trailblazer. It is a nice atv. It has plenty of power for most people, it is comfortable, very low maintenance. I then went with the Trailboss 330. I like it alot better. I think it is a smoother ride, more cushy seat, great on gas, low maintenance not as quick as the 250 but plenty of power. I like the fan assist oil cooler, front and rear racks and alot of accessories to go with it. Look at my pics and see what you think. Look at the 330 magnum also. I think this would be the better of the three. It has shaft drive, high and low gear, speedo w/ tach and trip, and some other goodies. It is only $700 more than the boss and $1000 more than the blazer.

My wife prefers her Blazer over the Boss. Turns easier is her biggest thing. Plus, when she decides to get a new quad, mod city on the Blazer. Hers came with front and rear racks. Had to take the front one off. Those things hurt when your chin hits 'em. BTW, front rack for Blazer or Scrammy for sale.
