400 sport gearbox

Default 400 sport gearbox

i am prepping a polaris 400 sport 1999 2 stroke for the summer. i am replacing the gearbox oil. i have the capacity but do not, or can not find what type fluid to use. i put in 20/50 racing oil. but want to know for sure what to use.

I use the polaris atf fluid for the tranny. It doesnt take much. But the polaris dealer is only about 15 min ride for me.

Use the Polaris lube. It's synthetic, and engineered for the application. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Default 400 sport gearbox

a real prepped 400 gearbox will be to split the cover and remove those junk reverse gears and put it back together with synthetic oil as well,
it shave over 4 lbs of rotating mass equivalent to more power to weight
ratio and higher clutch effiency.
