tooled on the old recon today
#1
ok so i tooled around on the recon today. im getting it ready to sell so im tryin to fix all the small things and get it cleaned up. so my first mission was to fix the front brakes. to makes it short they suck. they dont brake at all. when you pull the lever nothing happens. so i got one drom off and messed with the bottom adjustments and pushed the bottom of the pads out a little bit. could only get one drum off the other one wouldnt come off for the life of me. hammer and chisel did nothing to it. so i gave up and put the tires back on. i adjust the parking brake since it pretty much sucked and also adjusted the rear brake to much avail. big time improvement on the rear brake.
o yah i was wrenching on the front when i noticed the carb leaking. it usually leaks a little bit but never this bad. for some reason everytime i get this thing even on a slight slant it leaks gas out of the bottom of the carb. anyone got any ideas?

I dunno but my recon has a problem with slants too.... when i ride a wheelie or go up a steep incline it will just die out... runs out of gas. Ive asked tons of people but no one seems to know what the problem is. Ive tried numerous things.

Im pretty sure the recons have a problem with front brakes. I know hondas need adjustment to their brakes quit a bit but the recons suck. My friend had one and he had no front brakes. Tryed everything and nothing. Even new, you go and sqeeze recon front brakes and their already mushy feeling unlike their other atvs honda has. Huh. owell.
