Default MUDRUNNERS

I'm thinking about putting 25inch Goodyear mudrunners on my Rancher AT, but i'm concerned about the weight and powerloss. It's only a 400cc machine and can't afford to give up much power. I'm also curious to hear input on these tires as well as mudlite xl's. anyone have experience with this bike and either of these tires? thanks

as far as the loss of power is concerned i dont think there will be a signifigant difference, on my rancher at, i briefly installed mud machine bi claw 26" and experienced no loss of power! except for the extra traction the only other noticeable difference was the loss in my ability to slide in 2wd but that was b/c of the aggresive tread pattern.

We have the 25inch mudlite deep lug tires and mags on our AT and cant tell any difference in the power. The traction is a lot better in the mud and leafy hill sides. We run 5 lbs of air all around in the tires. The 25inch mudlites on the 7inch wide mag wheels actually turned out to be the exact same height as the stock 24 inch tires, Bridgestones I believe. We didnt gain any ground clearance after all, but the mudlites are my pick of all the tires on the market so far. I did read the other day where Mudlites now have a radial tire out. I would like to try a set to see if the ride was any better, but I see no need for any better traction than the original mudlites give.

Thanks for the replies. I'm leaning toward the mudrunners for 2 reasons. Long tread life, and I can put them on my stock 11 inch rear wheel. If i want the mudlites i'll have to buy 12 inch wheels for the back. I must say I like the mudlite xl better but don,t want the added cost of buying wheels. thanks again

mudlite makes a 25" tire 10 wide for a 11" rim that will fit on the back of your honda, but it is the original 3/4 inch lugs not the xl.

i think i'm going with the mudrunners. I'll have to take a chance with the heavier tire. they look like they will do awsome in loose dirt and mud with the deep tread. I hear they wear extremly well. Their a little pricey compared to most tires, but I don't have to buy new wheels along with them. I just hate to buy new tires and only have a 1/2 of tread. i'm still curious to read other posts I haven't placed an order yet. Thanks

I just ordered the Mudlites at's for my rancher AT, I got the 25-10-11 for the rear through a place on ebay. I just think with
the weight advantage of the lites you can't go wrong. Plus like you said you don't have to buy rims. Good luck!
