Swamped Scrammy
#1
My son's girl friend went boating with my Scrambler 500 4x4 this weekend. After 2 hours of come-alonging we got it out. He said the water was up to the seat, and that it wouldn't start. I pulled the plugs for the recoil starter housing and the belt, both were wet. I plan to change the engine oil and the front dif oil. There was some water in the airbox, but the carb throat was dry. I am going to pull the spark plug and turn it over to see if it culped water.
Any other issues I should consider before trying to restart it?

remember your transmission and to push out all water from your zerk points. Also water can fill the muffler and head pipe so pull the head pipe to train it as well. Last swamping, I had to change oil six times before it wasn't "milky" anymore.

Great! I had just changed my engine oil. This was it's first time out since then. My brother keeps busting my #%lls that my Polaris is always on a jack in the garage. He's right. It pretty much is. But he rides a Warrior, so he's always behind me anyway...
Thanks,
Mark

i found a ledge in a gravel pit, so mine when completely under. luckly i turned off before it went under. i would pull the carb also. i had water in the carb, oil, gas tank, exhaust and front diff. i just did another oil change and it was the first without milk in it. good luck
