humming noise from 01 foreman 450
#1
I am getting a humming noise that i know is not the tires. I does it when he get some speed biult up. It will also do it if going down a hill in neutal. It sounds like it could be something with the drivetrain. The faster you go the louder it gets. This bike has over 6500 miles on it and the only thing that has been changed would be oil/filter, air filter, brakes.
Could the noise be coming from the front axle or something maybe need new fluid?
Thanks for any help.

My 04 model Foreman makes a whining sound in the front axle that gets louder the faster I go. It is more noticeable when in 4wd. Its a normal sound of everything turning in the front differential I believe and it has done it since the day it was new. Kind of like the whine sound you get in the old Harley Primary chain area. If you havent ever changed the gear oil in the differential, it surely wouldnt hurt. I believe the manual says to change it every two years?

I know what the norml sound of this is like... it is how our 03 foreman sounds when in 4X4 mode. This is not the same. It has become worse and worse. I havent ridden this particular bike in awhile, mostly riding the 03 and others riding the 01. I am beginning to think it is either the front axle or wheel bearings.
