how much play should a piston have in the jug

Default how much play should a piston have in the jug

ok i tore my quad down and the piston in it has a .50 on the top of it i think that means it been bored already the piston and walls look good but i can rock the piston in the jug is that how its supost to be ?

Thats not good at all...is it to small of piston, or are the rings just bad, and i mean really bad?
