i have a 250x heres my problem its kind of a pain to get started once its started it runs fince at higher rpms if i try to lower the idle speed it will shut off or when i let it run on its own for a min with out bliping the throttle. the engine will all a sudden just wind down and shut off. sometimes it will run longer then others befor it does this. any ideas on what it could be? thanks

 

wanted to add something i left the fame with all the stuff on it cdi coil etc out side all winter long. so it could just be a weak spark does that make sence? if so what ones should i check stator coil or cdi for the peoblem?

 

it is prob. just your carb....a lot of x's have been having problems with their carb from what i noticed...mine did that a lot too...i had to clean the carb...

 

yea iv already taken the carb apart and blow the jets out with the air hose. still not working

 

I would clean the carb & adjust your valves [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] out of adjustment valves & it won't want to idle well!! I'm in the same boat w/ my 300 right now, in the process of trying to dail it in, but I run a 400ex carb on mine, it ran fine for 6 months then it all went to hell in a handbasket LOL [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] naw just a really dirty carb & jets but the valves will be next!!
