Default Pred 500 air intake and pipe

I just installed the Rath air intake, K&N filter in the airbox location. First ride out my stock plastic air intake tube came off the rear carb throat, sucking air straight in.
This set up just has the two big tywraps securing the rear of the plastic tube to the frame, and then the front has the clamp around the carb throat. I don't think the 2 tywraps are good enough to hold this thing in place.
Anyone else hear of this problem???

Does anyone know if Rath has a heat shield on their header pipe yet?

yes rath has a heat shield. and it is best if you put the zip ties so it is pulling the filter towards the carb.

The zip ties held mine on for a few months, then I sold it. I have the Rath heat shield on my header, pictures in gallery.

Thanks for the input!

I will call Rath today to order the pipe.
I will try to re-rig the zipties so they put more pressure forward.....thought I had them well done the first time. I will also ask Rath about that.
