Yamaha grizzly drive belt
#1
What kind of condition is acceptable for the drive belt on my old 99 600 grizzly? What should I look for? I have the cover off, and there is very slight and shallow cracking on the inside of the belt. Doesn't penetrate the surface, from a side view. Sides of the belt look shiny and glazed. A bit of dust and powder and what looks like drier lint was in there.
How long do these belts last?
Any suggestions appreciated.

Direct from a service manual for an 02 Griz. A few years newer, but the same rules apply.
CHECKING THE V-BELT
1.Remove
2.Check: V-belt 1 Cracks/wear/scaling/chipping ? Replace.
3.Measure: V-belt width 2 Out of specification ? Replace.

Thanks for that information. I really need a shop manual.
Remove it? Geeze, any idea how that is done?
I can see some tiny cracking on the inside. So does that disqualify this belt?
