I just got the bkie today and put a few miles on it and she wound out to 69.4 mph on pavement as verified by my GPS. the needle on the speedo read a hair over 70 so it is pretty accurate. The bike only has 20 mile on it and I gave it a quick shot, It gets to 60 fairly easily but takes a bit of a stretch to wind out. The bike should pick up a few more as she breaks in or if you put a small dude on it, as I weigh about 320lbs.

The 800 sure is impressive for top speed. All of the toys that I have owned have been broken in hard and am lucky that I havent had a problemm yet. I will keep you all posted if she gets Faster.

Hey Fineline. how fast is your Lightning. you ever race it. How fast in an 1/8 or in a 1/4. I got a Crewcab Duramax that goes like a scared rabbit.

I never ran it 100% stock..with nothing but a K&N filter i was runnign 13.70's@100 ona crappy track surface...with that same filter i put down 351.3hp and 421.7ft-lbs trq at the wheels. Its rated for 380hp/450ft-lbs at the crank stock. With a 4lb lower..cold air intake..magnaflow catback and a custom chip i put down 389.5rwhp and 477.8 rw trq...on a hot engine. I just added a ported blower...2.8in upper pulley...a new cai....and magnaflow highflow mid pipe with high flow cats..no numbers yet....with the 4lb lower i was sipping to 13.30's@102-103 on drag radils on a crappy track surface. I have pics of it if you want. Thanks for asking...sorry for pirating the post.

The tires of my 700 are right up against the sides of the bed..there is NO room for anything bigger..and I cant close the tailgate either.
