97 scrambler 400 4x4, forward grinds...
Hello,
New to the board! I have a '97 scrambler 400 4x4. When I put it in forward, at idle, no problems. Once it gets under a little bit of load it makes a nice gear grinding noise. Seems like something is not meshing. Reverse has no issues. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Wondering if I have to open the gear case or not, that looks like it might bne some serious work.

Check the bell crank on the tranny to see if it is stripped.Then get back at us.
