2004 SPORTSMAN SQUATS BAD
#1
Hi I have the above bike and my buddies tell me when I take off my trailer hitch almost drags on the ground my bike squats so bad. I'm 220lbs and I usually have gear loaded on the back. When it gets going it returns to a some what normal height. can I adjust this some how shocks or something

The preload is adjustable on the rear shock. The adjustment takes places on the bottom of the shock. Get under and take a look and you'll see an aluminum fixture that the spring settles in to. That fixture has a "stair step" adjustment which is done with a spanner wrench. The farther up the stair step you go the more pressure or "preload" is put on the spring. That should help some but you should still watch the weight of your load on the ***-end, it's a common charactoristic of IRS equipped Utes to squat a bit.

welcome to the forums!
my scrambler came with one too but for some reason the sportsmans do not.
Kingscleare,
you will need to lift the weight off the suspention to adjust with the spanner wrench.
