800 EFI?

Just wondering, now that some of you have them broken in, is the gas mileage getting better, or are they really that bad from what I've heard. Can you do 100 mile trips of up and down riding, mostly crusing speeds. I was told the 700 EFI gets 90-100 miles on the 4.25 gallon, which is pretty good for a big heavy machine, but the 800 was having a hard time getting 60-70 on a tank which is terrible.
Just wondering if anyone has some updates on this, as I'm a adventure rider who covers lots of ground on his trips and I don't want to carry over 5 gallons of gas on a 120 mile trip.
BTW, how is the quality holding up, heard about over heating fuel pumps when gas levels go low, is this true. So far also only 1 engine blowing on this forum, has anyone else heard anything or experienced anything.
Thanks.

Stump'
I have an 800.......The gas mileage SUCKS, it gets about 70miles per tank 60 if you give it. I personally don't care about the mileage. I have 1003 miles on mine not one problem yet ( knock on wood) I love the thing. It will do 69-70mph, & wheelie every time you punch the throttle down. The water tight storage is anything but. The front storage holds off the water better than the back, it takes on water easy. We do ride in about 2-2.5 feet of water so I can't complain.

The storage is a 2 piece design in the back that is why it is leaking. If you look at the sides of it you can see that it is snaped together. People are pulling this trunk off and sealing this seam to get a water tight seal.
