Default Part question

This should be an easy question but I can't find the answer anywhere.

What size is the circlip that holds the bearing ring to the shaft on the axles

of my machine? I mangled one of mine pretty good yesterday changing

a CV boot and would like to have some on hand for next time.

thanks

All the boot kits I ever bought had a new one in it. If you ruined the new one, put the old back in. I always save those kinda parts, cause Mr. Murphy likes me.

You talking about the clip on the very end of the axle that holds the joint onto the axle?

Yes the clip at the very end that holds the ring with the bearings in

it from falling off the axle. It is called a circlip and you are supposed to have

special pliers to get it off. They look like needle nose but are bent at

right angles at the tips. They sell the circlips at the hardware store for

pennies but I need to know the size . I don't have the old one

because I bent it back as best I could and put it back on. I want to know what

size it is so I can have some on hand next time.

thank you
