Default 450r Mods question

I just got my new R about 2 weeks ago, and I love the thing. Now my question is I race short track in oklahoma, and I'm going to need some modifications I'm thinking a full sparks pipe, pro design K&N kit, My question to the forum is what cam is best for this thing i've heard some good things about the sparks cam and there is always the reliable hot cam (stage 1 or 2), also I was wondering what gearing I was thinking up one tooth in the back should be sufficient, but seeing how i am new to this machine i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. Thanks in advance.

Up one tooth? Why it's already geared high. Go for the Hot cam stage 2, my cousin has one in his quad and it rips.

I run 13 39 on clay short tracks. I just did a hotcam stage 2 but haven't raced the cam yet.

Thanx for the gearing info TP. Could you tell any difference in just riding the quad with the stage 2?

There is a little less bottom and a decent gain on top. I have a 12:1 piston to install so hopefully that bring back the bottom end.

At 12:1 its supposed to still start easy. I watched for a half hour 2 guys trying to start a 13:1. I'll get the piston installed and let you know.

I heard the 13.1 was b*tch to start. I was told 11.5 (i think it was) was a good compression. But yes please do keep me updated.
