raptor +2 a-arms, are they too wide for woods/trail riding?
#1
The majority of my riding is probably trail riding, I'm thinking of buying the alba pro comp suspension kit which comes with alba +2 a-arms, elka suspension (no res), stainless steel brake lines, and tie rods. I was wondering if this will widen my raptor too much for tighter trails. I already widened the back a couple inches with a durablue axle, and that doesn't seem to get in the way. Does anyone have any suggestions, or comments?
Thanks for any input.

i would say.. it shouldn't be to bad.. i mean.. it won't be that much different aslong as you aren't going throguh TIGHT woods.

It costs 973.99 for all of that, you have the choice between elka and works suspension.
My durablue eliminator is at the plus 2 setting right now, although I think it is actually wider than that... I'm hoping that the front end will be equal or slightly wider than the rear if I buy that kit, I hear that having the front wider than the back is best for handling.
I don't go through too much tight stuff, but sometimes. Even some of the trails at the oregon dunes get tighter. Oh well, as long as I can go up banshee hill, I'm happy.

I just took my rebuilt R out for the first time last weekend and I did notice a difference in the trails with my new +1 arms. Not a huge difference, but when it came time to go down some deep gorges cut out into a hill, I had to be more careful then the guys I was riding with. I actually clipped a root one time and the handle bars jerked out of my hands and the bike stalled. Just remember that by widening the front, not only are you making the actual width increase, but your steering radius increases as well....at least it did on my R.

I can say around here if you had +2 Arms in the woods you would be a Slow ****. if you wanna go fast in the woods id stay narrow. if you wanna go slow and worry about bustin your wrists or thumbs. Stretch it out. Depends how wide the trails are too. like on the ranch the trails are 8'6" wide cuz thats how wide the lil dozers blade is. but in the forrest theres allotta spots where 48" is the max wich means on my rap with stock arms and SSD shox i will have to sit on the grab bar to cross the bridges
