Dyno Jet v.s Mikuni

I got a Dyno Jet kit and a Mikuni jet kit and I've heard here there is a difference in how they number the jets such as a Dyno jet #180 is smaller then a Mikuni #180 or is it visa a versa? and is there any real difference between the two manufactures?

I have this same chart from 3 different organizations.
All DS650 and F650 folks have accepted this chart.
What chart do the folks at Yamaha use?
I also have 4 Yamaha's in the garage to match the 4 Bombardier's.

Well think about for a second. What jets does a bike use in mikuni sizes? Do you run a bigger DJ in the same bike if you switch jets? When I do I run a lower number. In BSR Mikunis a 146 DJ is somewhere around 160 in a Mikuni.

Maddog, you have it backwards. A mikuni has a smaller number than a dynojet. Mikuni jet size is measured by its flow rate. A dynojet is measured by the hole diameter in the jet....I.E. a 175 mikuni = a 190 dj. A145 mikuni = 160 dj.

Scoundrel.....there is a diff in the jet #'s. Also if you are using mikuni jets stay with the stock needle. If you plan on running a dj kit, use the dj needle. The needles seat differently in the jets. As long as you don't mix the two you will be ok. I had a dj kit in my ds for a bout a year. I went back to mikunis. The dj needle wore out to quickly. Also the dj jets arent as true as they should be for my liking.
