Help!Sportsman won't shut off!
#1
Have a 99' sportsman 335,won't shut off. Tested the switches(handle bar and key)both working fine.
Tryed grounding out the kill wire on the CDI box(black wire) and it still runs.
Am I right to say the CDI box is bad? I hate to buy one(220.00)if it is not it.Is this a common problem?
Thanks for any help,
Bart

This happens on alot of the new machines, its usually the starter. My 2005 700 EFI had the same problem, I had to tap on the starter....then it would shut off. You can do a search and see this on the forum. I doubt it is your problem though. Don't know how it keeps running because of the starter, but it does...

My 00' 335 sportsman won't shut off with the key. I need to use the red switch to get it off. My "friend" took it out for a ride a month after I bought it and rolled it over. broke the rear rack, pod, bent handle bars and it hasn't shut off properly since. I never bothered to lok into it because it does shut off with the red switch.
Okay, so I am not a help, but letting you know you aren't the only one.

Elk, i don't think his starter keeps cranking, i think he can't shut-off the machine. i could be wrong but that's my interpretation.
oh well.
