Default cat 500 4x4

I have a 2000 cat 500 4x4(rider select) auto and after 50 easy miles rideing logging roads it stalls and
I have to put it on reserve to restart. Im thinking something has to be wrong because it seems to have
crappy mileage cpmpared to 2 friends of mine who have 375 auto 4x4 and sportsman 500ho 4x4 and they
average 90 miles to a tank. Does anyone have any opinions on what if any could be the problem?, the
quad is mint mechanicly and has only 3500 miles of use.

Thanks

My dad also has the 2000 500 auto. I have not heard of this problem before. Would it keep stalling and restarting? And then it won't start unless the shifter is in reverse? And then you use the "start in gear" feature correct? Have you checked the plug, wires, ground, etc? What kind of miledge are you getting wiht it? Bad gas, dirty carbs?
