Default Opinions on running a 14 tooth front sprocket?

anyway i have all the mods in my signaturewith stock 20 inch tires with 15/40 gearing but the riding I do is in the woods climbing logs and rocks just putsing around, often i wish first was lower, i have the two posts concerning 14 tooth sprockets and people riding in the sand just curious if anyone used the 14 in the woods, or rock crawling? by the way i am 225 lbs and gonna be switching to 22 inchers this fall when my 20 wear out, but the damn razors dont wear lol, any suggestions? thanks fellas

I am just like you, when I go in the woods or tight trails 14 tooth is great.
For drags, it is the best 2nd gear launch. When you go to 22's you will need the 14t.
Sometimes I wish these quads had 6 speeds. My old warrior with 6 speeds allowed me to have a great bottom and top.

IMO a 14 tooth front is a must for 22 inch rears. I've been running mine for over a year now with no excessive wear.

I run the 15T now in the Dunes. When I finish the engine mod's I may drop to my 14t. I keep both with me just incase....

I run a 17 tooth for a 1st gear start. I love it, it seems that it launches alot harder. I think anyway. Just my own opinion though.

I ran a 14 for over two years and never had a problem with my chain.

well i read the two past posts about using a 14 tooth sprocket and remember someone saying you had to turn one of the rear motor mount bolts around and another was asking about taking out a link cause his chain streatched so much he could not get it tight, that is why I was asking about the chain,
