Default 86 ATC 250R compared to today's quads

i was woundering how a 86 ATC 250R would compare to today's new quads my firends are getting the 250r for me and i'm going to buy it off of them so i can start going riding with them. my friends have a new 660 raptor and a trx450R. were all about the smae size so with skill aside would the 250R be able to keep up with the trx and the raptor?

Well, that depends on the set up of the atc and the quads. Driver experience plays a key part as well. The 250r would do more than keep up with the Raptor and 450r. Play around with your new toy a little and find out what modifications has been done to it as well. Enjoy!

do not underestimate the trike, for your first bike (if it is) its a lot to handle and way different from a quad. i would say do not try to keep up with your friends until you have ridden it for awhile.

With a few mods, they are fast enough. The real holdback is that they take more skill to ride fast. Ride for fun and well within your skill level so you stay safe. I'm sure you will be leading the way soon enough!

They're definatly quick enough with a few mods to keep up with a slightly modded rappy or 450r but like others said rider skill is key. Trikes are a blast and a chalenge to ride but once you master it they dont have to be any slower. If your powersliding a corner make sure you dont let up on that throttle you have to ride it out of the slide first.

You shouldn't have any probs keeping up in a straight line, especially piped. The 250R is WAY lighter than either of those quads, with the potential to make as much or more HP.
