250r brakes
#1
ok... im a moron
can someone tell me how to pretty much do a brake job...
i have the system set up and everything with the lines, i first have to rebuild both master cylinders (doesnt really seem too hard) i understand i need dot 4 fluid. how and where do i put the fluid in the system and how do i bleed the brake system. and finally how hard is it to install the pads because i never worked on a quad brake system..
Thanx

I can tell you that the pads are pretty simple. in the fronts you just have a thick oin that goes through a hole on each pad to hold them in place. Just pull the caliper off, unscrew the pin and remove pads. push the piston back and install new brake pads, screw pin in and reattach caliper.
I'm not sure how your backs are. On the 450r you just remove one bolt and the caliper pivots open. pull and replace pads. 5 minutes..

Rear fluid goes in the reservoir located on the right side of the airbox(Follow lines from the master cylinder).Front fluid goes in the reservoir the brake handle bolts to.Remove the 2 screws from the little rectangle cap on top.To bleed, bolt everything up and add fluid to the reservoir, pump the handle or pedal a few times and hold it in.On the calipers there is a "nipple" sticking out thatyou loosen while hold the handle in and tighten back before letting the handle go.Repeat this for each caliper until you bleed all the air.You need to find a Clymer manual for your R.
