Price on 01, TRX90?
#1
The boys have outgrown their 90's, so I am going to sell one (and keep the other for a younger kid). Need help setting a price. The plastic needs to be replaced and the tires are worn, but mechanically it is in excellent condition. I see that a new one is now $2,645. In So. Calif. you get soaked for dealer prep (nobody around here gives you a break on that) plus tax, so one would be looking at $3,000 for a new one.
Anybody care to suggest a fair asking price???

The worn tires are a minus but the need for new plastic is a really big minus - this will really limit your prospective buyers. For myself, I would only buy a bike with toasted plastic if I got a really good deal. I haven't checked Maier lately but I bet all new plastic will set you back at least $400. I would say you could sell it for somewhere in the low to mid teens. A lot depends on how much a similar bike will sell for in your area. Unfortunately, a well running but battered TRX90 will not look too good when compared to a brand new electric start Tiwaneese mini that sells for $1,800.
We bought our '96 model TRX90 in 2000 for just under $1,400. When I got it it had only been used as a pit bike - never saw a trail. All it needed was new rear tires - I felt that the price then was a pretty good deal for me. I think if I were to sell it now I'd try and get that same $1,400. Tires are in good shape and the plastic is scarred with a few cracks but basically sound.

seems like that around the ok, tx area 1000 is the going rate for a youth quad (honda kawi suz) but cali might be higher. I would at least replace the plastic if you are wanting to get a higher price or piece together the best plastic from the 2 that you have.
