Default question for all yfz 450 owners

do you know anything about re ringing your piston every 50 hours? i called the yamaha dealer and they said you have too do you?

Thats Bull *$#!.. I have way over 50 hours on my bike and its a 2005 Special Edition.....

Of course Yamaha is going to tell you that, they want your money. On a 4 stroke you should be able to get at least 100 hours on the rings, some people go over 200 hours. In the long run it all depends on how you ride the quad and/or the engine mod's you've done to it, the harder you ride or the more you've modded it the more often you should rebuild. But mildly modded or stock bikes should easily go over 100-150 hours on the top end.
