Raptor 80 starts on push but not with starter
#1
I have a 2002 yamaha raptor 80. Recently it has developed a starting problem. If the quad is not warmed up and I try to start it with the starter it will crank & crank but does not fire at all. If I put it into second gear and push it about 10ft it will start right up and idle perfectly. Once it warms up, the starter will start the quad perfectly as soon as I hit the button. If I then let it sit for several hours, then same problem happens again where I have to puch it to start it. I have changed the spark plug, installed a new battery, completely flushed the gas & carb with no improvement. I also checked that the spark plug had spark when cranking the starter. Any idea what could be going on here?
Thanks,
Rob

I just put it in 2nd gear and push it. The raptor has no manual clutch, but three manual gears. I only have to push it about 10ft and it starts right up.
