bumper vs brush guard
#1
I just bought an 05 SP 500 LE and I am struggling with the decision of weather to get the font bumper or the brush guard. I have seen several pictures of the brush guard but none of the bumper. I want to add as little additional weight as possible.
I know it is a personal prefference thing but I wanted to get your input.
Thanks in advance from a new member.

Just remember the bumper does not protect the headlights or front boxarea.
My girlfriend has the brushguard-
Also the front brushguard is a 3 piece design. The pcs that protect the headlights bolt to the center pc & the total thing isn't that strong.

the best way that i think you can make this decision is by thinking whether your wanting it to look really well, but not be able to take a big beating or look somewhat ok(depending which bumper) and being able to mole over small trees and not bend it.
my brushguard is the 3 piece design and the 2 pieces prtoecting the headlights are nice, but they are not that strong..if you hit a small tree on either one of those, it going to bend them. basically ask yourself where do you ride and how do you want it to protect..if protection isn't that big of a deal and you want to beef up your front end, get a brushguard. if you want to protect it because you are prone to running over things, get a bumper...just my .02 cents- PB500

I agree with this statement.
I think the bumper is stronger for the full width.

I just liked the under protection the brush gaurd gave. The radiator is low and I don't think bumper covers the radiator area. That would be my greatest concern but mind you. The brush gaurd is only offers a little bit of protection for the radiator. But it has saved me a couple time already for being stupid!! HEHEHEHE--LOL
