Default 1972 Ford Ranchero GT

Picked up another Ranchero last week.. Ive been looking for parts to fix the front end on the 73. Was hoping to find 72 parts because I like the way it looks. This one fell in my lap. Had a guy stick his head in my shop door and ask if I wanted another Ranchero. Asked what year, he thinks its a 73. he shows me pics and its a 72. I ask how much and he says $300.. I pick it up the next day..

This one would actually be the cooler one to rebuild but this one needs a lot.. Its got a 351C, 4 speed and a 9" rear end. Since it so far gone Im going to take the complete front end off of this one for the 73. Hood, fenders, bumper, grill and all the other sheet metal related items. Also want the 9" rear end and the door panels for the 73.

The complete power front disc brake set up will be taken off to be used on my 1970 Mustang project.

The rest is going to be parted out and sold.. Hoping the 4 speed is a top loader..

Nice!

Is the back glass stock? Can't remember if they had sliding windows. Nice to be able to open that up.

Took the Hood, bumper, grill, fenders and all related sheet metal off the front end of this today. Looks like Im going to have to cut the bumper bracket's off the 72 frame and weld it to the 73 frame..

Engine and transmission will be coming out tomorrow..

I got the engine and transmission out last weekend.. separated the transmission from the engine yesterday. Transmission is a top loader. Im going to sell everything from the backing plate to the drive shaft. Not sure what its worth though.. Was thinking of asking $1250.00 for all of it(including the clutch pedal from the Ranchero)..

the 72 Ranchero GT caught my eye.

My dad bought this '72 GT new. 351 4-v, C6 and the gauge package.

Dad loved it until some jerk one winter rear ended him and totaled it.

I decided to ask $1000.00 for the 4 speed and all of its components( flywheel to driveshaft ).. Sold it for $900.00.. A friend of a friend is shipping it all to New Zealand..
