new '06 yfz!!!!

One review said they are attempting to make it more trail friendly. That was one of my big criticisms of this machine. I trail rode my buddies on some nasty tight single track, and I was actually glad to get off that thing and back on my Z400! If you think about it, 99% of these machines will never see a track. Sure, MX machines get all the glory, but when you get them out on the trail that track setup does you more harm than good. They also said there may be a "WR" version in the works. The all new Raptor looks very interesting as well.
But, I still however can't figure out why Yamaha makes its bikes so narrow??? An MX bike should be 50" wide, right out of the box!

I don't think the 06 will be much different it the engine department. The added a 1.4mm to the stroke but reduced compression. I see those 2 things as self cancelling as far a change. It will rev a little slower, but that will make it seem slower. That will make it a better trail quad.
THe seat hieght is up .4 inch, and it appears all stats are the same. That means more seat cushion.

I don't think the difference will be much as TractorPacker said, what I find more exciting is suzuki and maybe bombardier getting in the 450 battle!

WTF?????? If you don't like the bike just say it. Don't pick it apart just because it doesn't fit your tame riding style.

Yamaha markets the YFZ as an "out of the box" MX machine, so they need to make that version is 50" wide. Then they need a seperate WR version, for trails. That's what I am trying to say, in a roundabout way. If they want to try and make a bike to do both, that's fine with me too. I'm not in the market for one anyway.
Just a note, my buddies is now MXing his YFZ, and basically after one season the bike is completely trashed! (He's a pretty good rider, with no major crashes.) Next season he is switching to dirt bikes, because he can't afford an new quad every year.
